Pancake Tuesday (March 4th) is upon us, and we’re flipping excited. Pancakes in Ireland have come a long way since the 90s. I still have childhood memories of shop-bought disasters microwaved to within an inch of their lives, served with Canderel and lemon juice that had the same consistency as a soggy Bounty towel. Thankfully, Dublin’s pancake scene has levelled up in recent years, and whether you’re after the fluffiest buttermilk stacks or a protein-packed feast, there’s something for everyone.
Here’s our top five spots to get your fix this Pancake Tuesday.
Keogh’s Café – Trinity Street (Mon-Sat 6:30am or 8:30 Sun)-6pm (Mon-Wed/Sun) and 7pm (Thurs-Sat)
A family-run gem serving up the same top-notch pancakes since 1996. Keogh’s is all about quality and comfort, and the best part? They donate leftover food to charity. So, go ahead and and get stuck in- guilt-free.
Try: The Pancake Stack (€11)

Póg – Bachelor’s Walk (9am - 4pm, Mon-Sun)
For the health-conscious pancake lovers, Póg’s protein pancakes are the way to go. Packed with flavour and surprisingly low in calories, these stacks won’t derail your fitness goals.
Try: The Classic – Nutella, Strawberry, Banana, White Chocolate (€15)

Hidden by One Society – Smithfield (Tues- Fri 8:30am-3pm brunch menu) (Weekends Open from 9am)
From sweet to savoury, Hidden by One Society does pancakes right. Feeling adventurous? Their Hangover Stack, complete with Tabasco sauce,
bacon, ricotta, and a fried egg, is the ultimate cure.
Try: if spicy isn’t your thing, go with the Blueberry Pancakes with Seasonal Berries & Maple Syrup (€13.95), or if you’re an adventurous lad, go with The Hangover Stack (€14.90)
OR The Item that's breaking the internet- The Dubai Chocolate pancake (with homemade Chocolate bars and Pistachio filling) €15 This Tuesday (9:00am-11:30am)- €18.50 normally
Sásta in the City – Citywest Shopping Centre (8am-4pm, 5pm weekends)
Brunch isn’t brunch without pancakes, and Sásta’s buttermilk quinoa pancakes hit the spot. Soft, fluffy, and topped with mixed berry compote, they’re a must-try.
Try: Mixed Berry Compote Pancakes (€14.90)

Alma – Portobello (7:30am-4pm weekdays, 8:30am-5pm weekends)
An Irish café with an Argentinian twist, Alma’s pancakes are legendary. Their Dulce de Leche stack, paired with a pear (or seasonal fruits), orange, mascarpone, mint and toasted almonds, is pure indulgence.
Try: Dulce de Leche Pancakes (€15.50)

Whether you’re a breakfast connoisseur
or just a pancake adventurer, these Dublin spots will serve up the goods this Pancake Tuesday. Now, the only question is—one stack or two?
