Ah Spain — sun, sand, and now a €650 fine if you forget to throw on a T-shirt after the beach.

Tourist hotspots like Barcelona, Malaga, and the Balearic Islands are cracking down on people strolling around in bikinis or swim shorts. So heading down to the frozen food section of a supermarket in a pair of speedos is probably a bad call. To be fair, it was always a bad call.

It’s all part of a wider push from locals who are well and truly over it. Between the noise, the rubbish, the scooters flying past at breakneck speed, and tourists treating every public space like their back garden, you can’t really blame them.

Signs are going up in busy areas asking people to cover up, turn the volume down, and stop acting like the entire town was built solely for their holiday.

Spain is still class. No one’s saying don’t enjoy yourself — just maybe throw on a T-shirt, show a bit of respect, and don’t stand outside an ATM at 2pm with your Celtic chest tattoo on display..
