Galway is finally getting the food market it deserves — and it’s landing right in the heart of the city. The old Connacht Tribune printing press on Market Street, once filled with the sound of papers flying off the press, is being transformed into The Printworks Food Market.
The 8,500-square-foot space will be packed with around 30 food and drink vendors, a BBQ pit, outdoor seating, live music, and even cooking classes. Basically, a full-blown playground for anyone who lives for good grub and a bit of atmosphere.
The project’s been given the green light by city planners after years of sitting idle, with Headspace Group leading the charge. It’ll close up by 10pm each night — but sure, if it’s anything like it sounds, the smell alone will have half of Galway queueing up long before then.
