Ryanair Launches New ‘Prime’ Deal — But Is It a Bargain or Just More Baggage?

Ryanair’s at it again, folks! They’ve just unveiled their latest scheme to squeeze… I mean, save us a few quid.
Say hello to Ryanair Prime — a new membership that’ll cost you €79 a year. For that, you get “perks” like free reserved seats, travel insurance, and first dibs on their sales — basically the Ryanair version of VIP… if VIP stood for Very Irritated Passenger.
They’re claiming that if you fly 12 times a year, you could save €420, and even with three flights, you’d claw back around €105. That's not bad, considering that’s the same price as a pint of warm Heineken and curry cheese chips at Electric Picnic.
The only thing is, they’re capping it at 250,000 members, so it’s a bit of a free for all. Dara Brady, the CEO of Ryanair, calls it a “no-brainer” for regulars, and fair play—if you’re in and out of Dublin Airport like it’s your local newsagents.
That said, it is Ryanair. These are the same lads who’d charge you for looking out the window if they thought they could.
So if you’re a frequent flyer — grand. If not, maybe keep your €75 for the snack trolley and emotional support pint. To avail of the service click here.
