We’re living in a golden era for fast food. Between Smash Burgers, Korean Fried-Chicken and more Donut shops than sense, Ireland now has the same variety as a ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ CD.

And the latest chart-topper? Taco Bell. You read that right, the comfort/drunk food giant is officially landing on our shores, with the first location set to open at an Applegreen forecourt this summer.

First, it was Krispy Kreme, and now it’s Crunchwrap Supremes. Applegreen is slowly becoming the Las Vegas strip of motorway stops—just waiting on that casino...

Look, this isn’t your authentic Mexican spot. If you want that, head to Tacos Lupillo. But Taco Bell? It’s the kind of food that hugs you after six pints and tells you everything’s going to be alright- don’t mind that negative bank account.

I first tried it in Australia and again in the US—it’s greasy, it’s glorious, and it’s best consumed with someone you’ve no problem having food all over your face with.

Long story short: if you’ve ever wanted to live inside an American teen movie… in the timeless words of John Cena (or Moloko if you like dance music)— THE TIME IS NOW.
