The Bray Airshow: Free, Loud, and Absolutely Unreal

Bray is about to go full Top Gun on Saturday, August 2nd, as the Bray Air Display lands back in town. It’s Ireland’s biggest free airshow – and yes, free still exists apparently. Expect planes doing loop-the-loops over the seafront, parachutists dropping in like surprise guests at a BBQ, and high-octane action all day long.
Ground action kicks off from 12pm, with a funfair, drone demos, food stalls and a few tanks knocking about for the Insta. Then from 3pm, the sky goes mad – the Aer Lingus Airbus is back, there’s wing-walkers, vintage warbirds, Garda helicopters, and daredevils with no fear performing to a full crowd.
It’s usually packed, so get there before 2pm unless you fancy hiking from Wicklow. Roads close at 10am and parking’s tighter than your uncle’s wallet. One of the best days out of the summer – bring suncream and a neck brace for all the sky-watching.
