The Top Five Best Food Trucks in Ireland

Back in the day, a food truck in Ireland meant a lad with a van and a dream — AKA minimal cooking experience, armed with a George Foreman and a microwave, dishing out Big Al’s burgers while muttering “the country’s gone to the dogs.” Simpler times… and even simpler seasoning.
Now? Top tier variety from burgers, tacos, to loaded fries so spectacular they belong in the Louvre — or at the very least, they’d have Gordon Ramsay shaking in his boots. Ireland’s food truck scene has levelled up, and these five are running the show.
*Disclaimer as they are food trucks some items may change or may be only served on selective dates.
1. Burgers Only – Blanchardstown, Dublin
No ifs, no buts, just burgers only. The lads behind this wagon are like the Christopher Nolan of burgers — full of invention and bold ideas. Standouts? The French (double patty, brie, rocket, tomato, signature sauce) and The Italian (chicken fillet, mozzarella, basil, house pesto mayo). Their loaded fries? Naughty.
2. Notorious Street Food – Derry
These boys are serving serious flavour with a side of Biggie Smalls mural. It’s quantity and quality — we loved the birria tacos, bacon cheeseburger, and their loaded fries. Whatever’s in the water up there, bottle it.
3. The Misunderstood Heron – Connemara, Galway
Stunning location, proper Irish ingredients, and views that’ll make you want to buy a camper, ditch your house and set up shop. Recommendation? Their adobo fried chicken and rice and seafood chowder are absolutely banging.
4. La Cocina Cuevas – Rathcoole, Dublin
Cali-Mex heaven. Used to be in Rathgar and I was borderline addicted. Think birria with consommé, cali burritos, chicken tinga quesatacos. Honestly, spent a summer in San Diego — this was better.
5. Blasta Street Kitchen – Monaghan
You’ll find it doing laps of the country, but we caught it at the Monaghan Farmers Market. Highlights? Their nachos and beef burgers are honestly next level . Unhinged flavour. Worth the hunt.
