You Can Now Bring a Bigger Bag on Ryanair — And It’s Free

Ryanair’s doing the unthinkable — they’re giving us more space… without charging for it. No, you’re not hallucinating mid-scroll. The budget airline is upping its “personal bag” allowance by 20%, meaning you can now squeeze in that chunky laptop or your emotional-support jumper and still have room for airport snacks.

The new max size is 40cm x 30cm x 20cm, weighing under 10kg, and it has to fit under the seat in front of you (next to your dignity and the crushed hopes of legroom). That’s a full third bigger than the new EU standard — a rare case of Ryanair going above the rules rather than inventing new ones to charge you €20.

They haven’t explained why they’re being generous, but we won’t ask too many questions; not bite the hand that neglectfully feeds you. Just take the win and measure your bag before you arrive looking like you’re trying to smuggle a tent and garden chair set.
